Amazon Prime Video app now available on the Microsoft Store

Amazon has released a dedicated app for its Prime Video service on the Microsoft Store. The company confirmed on Thursday, that the app, which is free, will be available for Windows 10 and will let you stream all content available on Prime Video.

It will also be possible to download content to view offline. Before this, the only way to view Prime Video on Windows was through a web browser. To use the app, you’ll need to subscribe to Amazon’s video service, $8.99 a month or free to Prime subscribers.

The app also supports streaming in up to 1080p, just like the website, but some films and series are only available in 720p – Amazon claims this shouldn’t be the case, although suggests quality “may vary”.

You can download it on any Windows 10 computer from the Microsoft Store.
