Apple Store and App Store & iTunes Gift Cards merge into one

Previously, Apple had 2 types of gift cards: Apple Store for products, and App Store & iTunes for services and digital purchases. Now, however, Apple has merged the gift cards together. The new name? Apple Gift Cards. Any balance you have with the App Store & iTunes can now be used for product purchases as well.

This also means that Apple’s 10% bonus on adding funds to your Apple ID promotions can be used to give you a discount or bonus if you want to buy something at the Apple Store. While the last promotion of this type ended yesterday, we’d expect to see it at some point in the future as they’ve ran many of these promotions before.

The rebranding/merging of these gift cards will now give customers (and even Apple employees) less confusion when finding the right gift card to buy, and overall was a good decision from Apple.
