Apple updates TestFlight app with new icon, App Clips support

Apple has released a new update for their TestFlight app, with a new icon featuring the same propeller style, and “Designed by Apple in California” sneakily printed in the top left– it’s likely you won’t notice it on your home screen.

TestFlight makes it easy to invite users to test apps and collect valuable feedback before developers release their apps on the App Store. Up to 10,000 testers can be added using their email address or by sharing a public link.

This update also reportedly includes support for App Clips, which is a new feature in iOS 14. An app clip is a small part of an app that’s discoverable at the moment it’s needed. Whether they’re ordering take-out from a restaurant, renting a scooter, or setting up a new connected appliance for the first time, users will be able to start and finish an experience from an app in seconds. And when they’re done, they have the opportunity to download the full app.
