Apple was accused of allegedly throttling down the performance of few older iPhones not long ago in the US. Many lawsuits were filed. Apple stated that the phones were slowed down deliberately in order increase the device life, and also to make sure the batteries of older phones didn’t die quickly, and later on they gave users the option to choose whether or not they want to slow down their iPhones performance. But recently Apple was fined 25 million euros by a French institute that monitors competition and fraudulent business operations in France the DGCCRF. Apple was fined with the reason that they didn’t warn the customers about this feature, even though it was to make sure the device life extended.
