Instagram could soon list suggestions on who to block

Instagram is working on a new feature that will suggest people it thinks you should block from viewing your profile, Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, has revealed. It’s contrary to social media platforms recommending who to follow.

Users will see a list of people, in a new page, that they may wish to block on Instagram. The feature will work through your Facebook account: if you’ve linked them together, the feature can detect who you’ve blocked on Facebook and recommend you do the same on Instagram. It will likely work the other way round, too.

Additionally, Facebook looks to be integrating Messenger into Instagram. It’s not known if this could replace the Direct Messages feature or will be a rebrand, but a leaked option suggests it could be the former.

It’s unclear when these features could be released, as they’re in development at the moment.
