iOS 13.6.1 fixes thermal throttling issue on iPhone 11

Apple has released iOS 13.6.1 to all users with bug fixes and performance improvements. The update improves Exposure Notifications and fixes some smaller issues.

Earlier this year, many people reported that their iPhone 11 screens were displaying a green tint. It was believed to be fixable with software and Apple has now done that, claiming the cause was a thermal throttling issue on those devices.

The update is now available to all users running iOS and iPadOS 13. iOS 13.6 was released last month, with improvements to software updates, support for Car Key and Apple News+ Audio and more.

iOS 13.6.1 includes bug fixes for your iPhone.

  • Addresses an issue where unneeded system data files might not be automatically deleted when available storage is low
  • Fixes a thermal management issue that caused some displays to exhibit a green tint
  • Fixes an issue where Exposure Notifications could be disabled for some users
