Microsoft updating Store app with new icon

Microsoft is slowly rolling out a new icon for the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10. The change, first revealed by ALumia, is appearing for users in the Release Preview Channel.

The company has replaced many of its flat app icons on Windows 10 with colourful and modern ‘Fluent Design’ based icons. These look much nicer than the previous design language and add a sense of depth to all icons.

The Microsoft Store app is the latest to get an updated icon. Although very similar to before, it features a more prominent ‘bag’ shape with defined handles and shadows. The change hasn’t come to users on stable versions of Windows 10 but is likely to do so in the coming months.

If you want to check the new icon out, you’ll need to be a Windows Insider. This gives you access to pre-release versions of Windows 10 that will come out to the public at a later date.
