My EE app updated with support for Dark Mode

Today, a new update is available for the My EE app that brings support for Dark Mode on iPhone. My EE is an app for customers of the UK’s largest mobile network, EE that lets them manage their account, top up their credit and view remaining texts, data and minutes.

Version 4.41.0 brings system-wide dark mode to the app. This is available in iOS 13 for users who have the Dark Mode enabled (in Settings > Display & Brightness > Dark) and there is no toggle to manually change the app’s theme.

We’ve seen the light – and added Dark Mode.

Dark mode is particularly helpful for users with low vision or light sensitivity. It makes text much easier to read for longer periods and is less likely to cause eye strain in low light conditions.

Using dark mode can also help prolong your battery life – especially on devices with OLED or AMOLED displays – as it means there’s no need to continually light up each pixel on your screen. So using My EE is less of a drain on your battery and easier on the eye – win/win.

Whilst most of the UI remains the same, the menu bar, navigation menu and other pages that previously used a white background now use a dark grey. EE says that this puts ‘less of a drain on your battery’ and is ‘easier to the eye’.
