[UPDATED:] Office.com gets a visual refresh, rolling out to app now

Update, September 3rd: Microsoft has released the new design to the Office app for Windows 10 in a server-side update. The update brings the new sidebar and relocated app menu and is available for some Windows Insiders.

The company is also testing the new look with Education accounts, Apple TLD can confirm. It’s not clear, though, if it is limited to a select number of accounts.

Microsoft has refreshed the design of the Office.com homepage. It moves from a horizontal-tab design to vertical sidebar with icons for all of the Microsoft apps included with your plan.

The changes, first spotted by Aggiornamenti Lumia, are rolling out now to Business users and will likely make their way to Personal and Education accounts in the coming days.

The new interface puts a focus on recent, pinned and shared documents, right from the homepage. The general functionality remains the same, but Microsoft has added the ability to create a range of documents from the portal.
