Pixelmator Pro for iOS adds native document browser and more in rare update

A few weeks ago, Pixelmator announced major updates to the Pixelmator Pro app for iPhone and iPad. These have been available in the TestFlight beta app, but weren’t publicly available until today, in a rare update to the app.

The custom gallery interface has been replaced with iOS’ native Files document viewer, found in many other apps. Because of this, Pixelmator now works better with iCloud and third-party cloud providers, external drives and servers, using the Files app.

New presets have been added when creating a new file. You can select new canvas sizes, use pre-made templates and browse using the revamped photo browser, which uses your iPhone or iPad’s camera roll.

The update, version 2.5, is available to users for free now. Pixelmator can be purchased from the App Store for $4.99.
