Target’s Inventory Leaks Apple’s New Headphones

For the past few weeks, there have been several reports of Apple planning to unveil an over-ear headphones. This has now almost been confirmed by YouTuber Jon Prosser, who shared on twitter images that happened to show the new product, named “Apple AirPods (X Generation)”, in Target’s inventory system. The new product has a list price of $399.99, much higher than the $249.99 price tag of AirPods Pro, Apple’s most expensive earphone as of now, thereby suggesting a higher-end model. Prosser also says that there are three different SKUs listed for this product, suggesting that Apple’s headphones could be available in multiple colours.

According to staffers from Target to whom AppleInsider talked to, ‘Placeholders for new products are common”, and that pricing information is usually accurate, while product names are not. This confirms the expensive price tag of $399.99 of the new headphones from Apple, but most probably (and hopefully) it won’t be called the “Apple AirPods (X Generation)”, which honestly feels like a wonky name anyways. This confirms the report form renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who said to expect Apple’s new premium headphones sometime during the first half of this year. As for the unveiling of Apple’s new headphones, the rumoured Apple March Event seems the most likely place for Apple’s new over-ear headphones.
