[U: Now on iOS] Telegram updated with multiple pinned messages, playlists, more

Update: The Telegram update is now available on iOS and iPadOS and can be installed from the App Store now.

Popular messaging app Telegram has been updated with multiple pinned messages, an improved Live Location feature and more.

Pinned messages are now supported in one-on-one conversations. You can also pin multiple messages in a chat and swipe through them.

Live Location let’s you share whether you are with someone else. This has been improved to show the direction you’re facing and lets you set up alerts to tell you when someone is nearby.

It’s always been possible to share music in Telegram, but if you share multiple songs at once, Telegram will group them in a playlist. You can tap on a song to play it within the app. Playlists also support sending multiple files in one go.

In addition to Channel Statistics, admins can now view stats from specific posts in a channel, which show where a post has been shared to, overall views, private shares and interactions. This will make it easier to see what posts a channel’s users engage with the most.

Telegram gains spooky animated emoji

Telegram first introduced animated emoji in August 2019 and this update brings some Halloween-themed additions, including coffin, moon, zombie, spider and vampire.

Learn more about the Telegram update here. It’s currently on available on Android as Apple is ‘reviewing’ the update. We’ll let you know when iOS users will receive the new features.
