Twitter for Mac updated with new icon, improved UI and Universal 2 support

Twitter has pushed out an update to its app for Mac that brings full support for macOS Big Sur and Apple Silicon Macs. It comes after Apple released macOS Big Sur to the public on Thursday, with a major redesign, refreshed widgets and updated system apps.

Version 8.43.11 includes an updated design that’s built for macOS Big Sur, with more transparency effects, and a new icon, that looks more modern and clean than the previous flat logo.

This version of Twitter for Mac improves the sidebar and overall performance with Apple Catalyst. It also supports Universal 2, which allows Twitter to work on Apple Silicon Macs and push updates to Intel and M1-based Macs out at the same time.

The latest version can be installed from the Mac App Store for free.
