Windows Migration Assistant updated for macOS Big Sur

On Friday, Apple updated the Windows Migration Assistant software to support macOS Big Sur, the latest version of its operating system for Macs.

The software lets users transfer their contacts, calendars, email accounts and other data from a Windows machine to a Mac. It’s different to the Migration Assistant that comes pre-installed with macOS, for migrating between Macs.

Version 2.3.0.0 is now compatible with macOS Big Sur, released last Thursday. The release notes simply state:

This software will help you migrate data from a Windows PC running Windows. The Migration Assistant will launch automatically after it has been installed.

Apple also has a version for direct compatiblity with macOS Sierra and High Sierra and a seperate download for macOS Mojave and Catalina.
