YouTube Kids app now available on Apple TV

Google has announced that the YouTube Kids app, aimed at children, is now available for free on recent Apple TV models. It can be downloaded from the App Store on tvOS in dozens of countries from today.

The Kids app is essentially the YouTube service stripped down to include only videos that child-friendly and made for kids. Parents can set viewing limits, content restrictions and other controls to set the experience for their children. These settings will sync with the Apple TV app when a user signs into their Google Account.

The YouTube Kids app is available on the Apple TV 4 and 5, which run tvOS and can access the App Store. YouTube have also rolled out the app to set-top boxes such as Sky Q, and smart televisions. It can also be downloaded on an iPhone or iPad, or Android device.
